Distributed Mentor Project: Summer 2003
Jennifer Hardy
How
excited was I when I was sent to San Diego, California for my mentorship
through DMP???
I remember getting my acceptance letter in early March that said I had
been accepted and that they were still going to be doing the matching
process. At that point I was nervous
and waited anxiously to see where I would be sent. No offense to places such as Alaska and Kansas, but that’s all
that ran through my head: I would be
transferred to a deserted place for the summer and not get the chance to
experience a wonderful place. That was
not the case at all. I was sent to San
Diego and I must have told everyone about it instantly. With much anticipation, I flew out to San
Diego to the San
Diego Supercomputer Center where I would work for ten weeks of my
summer.
