Weblog: Week 4

This weekend was pretty good until Sunday. My roommate, Matt, was in a car accident on his way back from the beach. He's currently in the hospital in Greenville, and we were hoping that he would be released today, but so far that hasn't happened. But I did get to talk to him on the phone and he sounds really good. He broke his left hand and his right wrist. He's also cut up and bruised, but alive!

I came to school in the morning to have my meeting with Dr. Williams and attend reading group. Both went really well, and I'm a little more focused on my duties at Nortel.

At Nortel today. Continued working on the automation of test case results into the database. I was hoping to be done with this by now so that I could work on some of writing some of the test cases. The intern with the group, Steven, has been writing a test suite that tests the shell that comes with the CCM or NCM product. I've been looking over his shoulder while my tests are running to get an idea of what he's doing.

At Nortel again. Still continued on the automation stuff. Think that I was able to get most of my part finished. Jason says that he's going to try and integrate all of the test file and such. I've been given three things to look up for Jason: SWTUnit and the possibility of use to Nortel, getting more information out of JUnit when a test is run, and finding information about Traceability.

Played softball tonight with the church league that I'm part of. We won!

Was at State today, which was a very good thing. My roommate, Matt, was released from the hospital and his parents brought him by the apt to get some of his things before they take him home to D.C. So I was able to get away to see Matt before he left. He looked tons better than what I thought he would look like (I was afraid that he would have stitches and stuff all over his face and neck, they said he had lacerations,) but he did have splints on both of is arms. He's getting casts in D.C. He has this little think that he can stick around his hand that he can put a fork or toothbrush in. He was in incredibly good spirits, and hopes to be back in Raleigh soon.

Also, played a little bit of catch with Colin, Mark, and Lucas during lunch. Got sunburned. Must try and remember to buy some sunscreen. Worked on tutorial 4 and learning about SWTUnit. SWTUnit will most likely not help the team at Nortel since they have already written their program in Swing. They really need a SwingUnit.

My boyfriend, Pat, came in last night at about 11 or so. Just when I was starting to drift off. But it was really good to see him. I got him to try out this book that I got called "The Color Code" by Taylor Hartman, Ph.D. It's supposed to tell you what color you are and what that represents about your personality. I'm a blue and Pat (or P.B.) is white. I'm more emotional and he's more analytical. It's really a very cool quiz. I'm thinking that I might try and make it into a website. But today is our 6-month anniversary so we went out to dinner at Steak and Ale (very yummy).

I spent the day researching Traceability online. It was very boring, and there is not very much concrete information about it. Traceability is one of those things that makes since so no one feels that they should write detailed instructions about it.
