Week 9
|
Monday, July 14th, 2003 At State. Kept working on
the tutorials. Started working on a tutorial about using a metrics plug-in
for Eclipse. It was a very easy and short tutorial to write. I also worked on
writing some GUI tests for Nortel. I was able to get the tree manipulation
test to work as well as the import test to work. I'm having some problems
with the calendar because Abbot is not recognizing some buttons. Tuesday, July 15th, 2003 At Nortel. I continued
working on writing tests. I have continued running into problems with Abbot.
I talked with another person from another team that has been working with
WinRunner, a commercial GUI testing tool, for the past year or so. He liked
hearing about the open source tools, but seemed to be very positive that
WinRunner could handle the testing that Jason wants done. Nortel has a license
with Mercury Interactive to use WinRunner so it would not cost anything to
the team to use WinRunner, but we want to try the open source tools first. Wednesday, July 16th, 2003 Continued looking at
Abbot, but I don't think that it's going to work. There are two many problems
with objects that it doesn't recognize. At the end of the day I downloaded
and installed WinRunner. I worked on a few test cases and it seems incredibly
promising. However, I can't get WinRunner to run on my laptop so I'll have to
wait until next Tuesday to work on tests to make sure that WinRunner will
work for NCM. Thursday, July 17th, 2003 At State today. I worked
on the JUnit tutorial. I've also been doing research on GUI testing. I've
been printing out papers that deal with GUI testing. Friday, July 18th, 2003 Kept working on the JUnit
tutorial. |
