- Who is Aimee you ask? Well...
- My full name is Aimee L. Strang. I am currently a
senior at the University of Maryland,
Baltimore County (UMBC) in Baltimore, Maryland where I am pursuing my
bachelor's degree in Computer
Science and Mathematics.
-
- I reside in Severn, Maryland--a little town centered between Baltimore,
Maryland and Washington, D.C. My mother is from South Korea and my
father is Caucasian. Being biracial is a big part of who I am.
If you can't understand that, then well...you can't understand me.
- I also have a younger brother Michael, who is three years younger than
myself. How old is Aimee?...haha, wouldn't you like to know. In my spare time I enjoy laughing,
making other people laugh, spending time with those who are dearest to me, shopping, and eating.
-
- I am also very
involved on UMBC's campus. I am an active member of UMBC's
Chapter of the National Society of Black
Engineers (NSBE), the Black
Student Union (BSU), and UMBC's
Chapter of the National Association for
the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). I am also a member of
the President's Student Advisory Council (PSAC) and I serve as an Ambassador
through the Admissions
Office. I also serve as the liaison through General
Electric (GE) for UMBC.
-
- During the summer 2004 I received a grant to do research
from the Computer Research Association's Distributed
Mentor Program. Through the program, I
participated in Computer Science research with Professor Gloria Mark and
graduate student Victor Gonzalez through the Institute
for Software Research (ISR) at the University
of California, Irvine. My research
focuses on the statistical analysis and visualization of data collected.
-
- In the fall of 2005, I hope to either attend the Entertainment
Technology Center at Carnegie Mellon
University or begin a M.S. program at either Georgia
Institute of Technology or Massachusetts
Institute of Technology.
For more information on Aimee, you will
have to wait to read my published biography...
