My mentor for the summer is Lori Pollock, a Professor in the Department of Computer and Information Sciences at the University of Delaware. Her research includes program analysis and optimization, testing of object oriented and web based software systems, program-based analysis and optimization of explicitly parallel programs, and security of mobile software. She teaches Advanced Program Analysis, Compiler Construction, and Parallel Programming courses at UD. When she isn't teaching, writing papers, or overseeing research in the HiperSpace lab, she is taking care of her husband, Mark, and her three kids, Lauren, Lindsey, and Matt. She is an amazingly fun and intelligent person and I am so lucky to have the chance to work with her!

My graduate student mentor is Sara Sprenkle, a Ph.D. student at UD. She got her undergraduate degree from Gettysburg College and her master's degree at Duke University. She also participated in the DMP with Lori as an undergraduate. She is now involved in research on optimization and testing of web applications in the the HiperSpace Lab. She lives with her cat, Sydney, and keeps herself busy teaching an introductory programming course during the summer session. She is lots of fun and always makes people feel welcome in the lab.
