Our project is entitled "DSSimulator: A Simulator for Scalable Distributed Systems, and was originally created by Jawwad Shamsi. The project "is an object oriented platform to simulate distributed systems, applications, and protocols", and "provides a flexibles environment as different DS applications such as P2P, overlay, etc can be deployed and simulated". (From the Developer's Guide written by Jawwad Shamsi).
This simulation produces an approximation of network behavior, focusing almost entirely upon the application level of analysis and presuming that all messages are sent as a single packet. These simplifications, however, enable the simulator to emulate the behavior of massively large networks in a reasonable amount of time.
