July 31 - August 6

As it turns out, I wasn't as finished with my project as I originally thought! First Craig was away for a while, then there were some technical difficulties here and there and Craig and I had to work through some things before he could actually integrate my code into BRIDGE. Then we did some talking and he started getting all sorts of new ideas for where we should take my second study. So... that led to more planning and more meetings until finally everybody was happy and eager to get this show on the road. Turns out that didn't happen until Thursday. In the meanwhile, I finished up what I could in my paper, helped Craig with an affinity diagram study he was doing, demoed my RSS feed at the CSCL meeting and read some of this design experiemnt paper Prof Carroll gave me.

Thursday was actually my last day, and Prof Rosson took me to lunch. The group working on the ONR project started using my feed, and even though I was gone, everyday for a week I sent them a short questionnaire on their usage of the RSS feed. Then at the end of the week I sent a longer one. In the meanwhile, I created a summary version of my paper and submitted it to the Crossroads student publication. Then was some analyzing and some more paper writing and then I finally finished my paper! I'll probably have to make a few more adjustments, and then I'll send it off to CHI.
