Summer 2007 DMP Internship
Welcome! Here you will find information about me, my research interests, and my on-going internship experiences during the summer of 2007.

About me

My name is Stephanie Dinkins, and I am an incoming junior in the Computer Science program at the University of Hawaii in Hilo. I intend to pursue a graduate degree in Computer Science after graduation in 2009.

My Research Interests

My research interests are scientific computing and parallelization. The goal of my research project is to adapt a parallelized version of the Linear Gauss-Seidel algorithm from a shared memory implementation to a distributed memory implementation using MPI. Accordingly, I am doing research on the effectiveness of Gauss-Seidel parallelized with sparse tiling techniques on both shared memory and distributed memory machines with professor Michelle Strout at Colorado State University (CSU).

Michelle Strout is an Assistant Professor in the High Performance Computing research group, which is part of the Computer Science Department at Colorado State University.
