  • The AAAI awards page offers information on their various awards including the Distinguished Service, Newell, and Fellows awards.

  • The ACM Awards page offers a listing of all the ACM awards for outstanding technical and professional achievements. For example, information on the Turing, Lawler, and the Karlstrom awards as well as information about SIG awards is given.

  • The ACM Fellow Award is given to the top one percent of all ACM members.


  • Annual Awards- Google offers an Anita Borg Scholarship to female undergraduate and graduate students in the computer sciences.

  • The Anita Borg Institute sponsors annual awards for innovation, technical leadership and for social impact.

  • The CRA-W Anita Borg Early Career Award annually recognizes a woman in computer science and/or engineering who has made significant research contributions and who had contributed to her profession, especially in the outreach to women.


  • FastWeb: A free service to help students choose a college, pay for college and find jobs. Recommended by over 16,000 guidance counselors and financial aid officers, FastWeb is a trusted college resource on the Web. FastWeb lets students create a personalized profile that can be matched against expansive databases of colleges and scholarships with more than 600,000 scholarships FastWeb also notifies students when new scholarships are added and application deadlines are approaching.

  • The IEEE offers information on various awards. For example, information is available on IEEE Fellow awards and IEEE Senior Member awards.
  • Graduate Research Fellowship Program: Academic scholarships for women graduate students from Lucent Technologies.

  • National Physical Science Consortium (NPSC): The NPSC offers a unique and exciting doctoral graduate fellowship program in the Physical Sciences which directs special emphasis toward the recruitment of under represented minority and female Physical Science students in order to offset the historic imbalance faced by these under represented groups within the research community. Each fellowship is worth from $156,000 to $200,000 depending on which university a student attends. This is a nonprofit organization so there is no fee to our applicants.

  • The National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program offers graduate fellowships for women in engineering and computer and information science.

  • IBM provides a PhD Fellowship Program that honors exceptional PhD students in selected fields.

  • Sandia National Laboratories offers a President Harry S. Truman Fellowship in National Security Science and Engineering that provides recent Ph.D.s a chance to pursue independent research.

  • The Association for Women in Science offers undergraduate, predoctoral, and postdoctoral fellowships for women students.

  • Women and minorities are encouraged to apply for the AT&T research program for undergraduates or the fellowship program for graduate students.

  • The American Association of University Women offers both fellowships and awards to women.

  • The Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics offers awards to recognize outstanding applied mathematicians and computational scientists. SIAM awarded individual papers, research contributions, lifetime achievement, and service to the mathematical sciences community.

  • The National Science Foundation's National Science Board page lists the descriptions, criteria and procedures for a variety of honorary awards, including the Vannevar Bush Award, the Public Service Award, and the Presidential Medal of Science.

  • The American Philosophical Society offers a variety of fellowship and research grants.

  • The WITI Hall of Fame was established in 1996 by WITI to recognize, honor, and promote the outstanding contribution women make to the scientific and technological communities that improve and evolve our society.

  • The Microsoft New Faculty Fellowship program seeks nominees who are advancing computing research in novel directions with the potential for high impact and who demonstrate the likelihood of becoming thought leaders of the field.

  • The David and Lucile Packard Foundation Fellowships for Science and Engineering were established to allow the nation's most promising professors to pursue science and engineering research early in their careers with few funding restrictions and limited paperwork requirements.

  • The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation is a private, independent grant making institution dedicated to helping groups and individuals foster lasting improvement in the human condition.
