Every Saturday, there is a farmer's market
in the square in front of City Hall. There
are quite a few things you can buy, especially
the exotic. Bison pepperoni (quite good)
as well as emu plus lots of nice vegetables.
One of many churches found in Kingston, in
this case the Chalmers United Church. This
city is very similar to Norwich, England,
where there is a church for every week
and a pub for every day.

Lego MindStorms NTX kit. This is the educational
version which means that it comes in a nice box
with lots of storage compartments to put the
pieces in. It comes with every thing you need
to make the proceeding pieces.

Portsmouth Olympic Harbour. Next door to a
prison, this picturesque harbour was the site
of the Sailing events in the 1967 Olympics.
Next door to Queens, The Frontenac County
Court House, is a beautiful example of Kingston
architecture. Also the fountain in front is stunning.

Spring has arrived in Kingston, the cherry
blossoms are just bursting.
As you can see, the trees are starting to
bloom. This picture is the second in a series
for my main picture which will change over the
next four months.

St Mary's Cathedral - This is the hardest building
to get a nice picture of, this was one of my later
attempts. I like how it turned out.

Another view of St Mary's, this time
looking up from in front of it.

Open Doors Ontario - a chance to view some of the
historic buildings in Kingston. Some of which that
are not normally open to the public. In this case,
the Secret Garden Bed & Breakfast Inn,
a very pretty place built in 1888.

Rosemount Inn & Spa, another inn on
Sydenham Street, this built in 1850.

Hochelaga Inn & Spa, another nice inn on
Sydenham Street. Built in 1879.
My favourite place in Kingston, I absolutely
love this fountain. That day, it was also running.
The blue of the bowl is beautiful.

The roof of Shoal Tower, one of four Martello
towers built in the 1840's to defend Kingston and
the entrance to the Rideau Canal. The roof is
removable to allow the defending guns to be fired.

Shoal Tower, this is only open once a year
so be sure to check it out on the Saturday
of First Capital Days.
The ballroom in Kingston City Hall (built 1843),
a very grand venue with some wonderful
stained glass windows in remembrance of
World War I.

interesting combination of historic room and
a light fixture from 1973.
Snowbirds, the Canadian Air Force aerobatic
team, performed over Kingston on June 27.
They performance was very grand though the
location I was viewing from was a bit away from
the main centerpiece.

Beautiful but very hard to catch on camera!
  Announcing something in Market Square
behind Kingston City Hall. I didn't manage to
hear what he was announcing (I think it was
horse cart rides but I am not sure) as he was
just finishing when I arrived to the Square.
