I will be working on the intelligent agents for electronic commerce project, which is also called MAGNET (Multi AGent Negotiation Testbed). Following the link will take you to the main MAGNET page which has a brief explanation of the project (with diagrams) and also links to other papers by the MAGNET team. The testbed itself is already finished, so I my project will be to improve its new GUI interface. So I have been learning how to program in Java, use the UNIX OS, and figure out emacs too! My tasks aren't terribly interesting, mostly just figuring out how to make rows highlight in certain ways and how to handle some special cases, but they do require some knowledge of MAGNET itself which is really interesting. I'm also enjoying learning about good interface design.
