General Chairs: The goal of the CRA-W Workshop on Research Career Mentoring for Women in Computer Science and Engineering is to provide mentoring activities targeting women senior graduate students and women just starting as industrial researchers or professors. The workshop is structured to provide with critical information about the culture of and content required for professional research, and contacts with successful role models and mentors. The fee for attending the workshop is $200 if you register early (Early Registration Fees apply until May 11th; $260 for late registration). The fee covers the cost of the facilities and meals provided during the workshop. Each participant is responsible for her own travel arrangements and expenses (airfare, local travel, and room costs, etc.)

We are pleased to announce there will be a limited number of travel scholarships available for participants. DEADLINE FOR TRAVEL SUPPORT APPLICATIONS EXTENDED TO APRIL 26. The workshop will cover a variety of topics targeted to "junior" academic researchers and industrial and national laboratory researchers. See the agenda. For junior academic researchers and graduate students: we will have panels on how to get the best out of attending a conference, getting a job and negotiating a start-up package, getting funding, and surviving the tenure process. We will have panels getting started in a research lab, being successful both within one's institution and in one's research community, and planning one's career. |
