The Tenure Process

The first half of the talk reviews the typical promotion and tenure process and details information you need to keep track of to prepare your promotion and tenure Dossier.

The second half of the talk contains promotion and tenure survival skills including:

  • Establishing an impressive teaching portfolio
  • Research - quality before quantity in publications
  • Service - learning how and when to say no to service
  • Tips for grooming external reference writers
  • and other tips which can help you deal with and, perhaps, understand the tenure process.
