Scientist I Position
The National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) in Boulder, Colorado, seeks an individual to work as an entry-level scientist in the Computational and Information Systems Laboratory, a state-of-the-art research facility. We particularly seek applicants with expertise well-matched to the following priority areas:
Technologies and Techniques for Petascale Computing:
• massively parallel algorithms
• optimization for multi-core systems
• accelerator technologies, such as GPUs and FGPAs
• software engineering for parallel applications
Building a National Cyberinfrastructure:
• fault-tolerant and reliable computing techniques
• system virtualization technology
• Grid-based service-oriented architectures
Candidates will be expected to submit:
• a statement of research interest,
• a curriculum vitae, and
• a list of referees from whom we may request letters of recommendation.
Requires Ph.D. Degree in computer science, electrical engineering or computer engineering; or a related science field. Must have scientific and leadership skills to develop and coordinate research programs as well as demonstrated excellence and productivity in scientific research, as evidenced in refereed journal and conference publications.
