CCC-CIDR Call for Papers
The CCC has partnered with the Conference on Innovative Data Systems Research (CIDR) to create a special "Outrageous Ideas and Vision" track at CIDR 2011. The emphasis of this track will be on long term challenges and opportunities for the database and data management communities that are outside of current mainstream research in the field. To encourage participation, the CCC is sponsoring travel awards to the top submissions. Click here to learn more and respond to the call.
Future of Software Engineering Research
A final call and deadline extension have been announced for submission of 2-4 page position papers to the ACM Foundations of Software Engineering / NITRD Software Design and Productivity Working Conference on the Future of Software Engineering Research, to be held in November in Sante Fe during the week of the FSE.
The submission deadline has been extended till Friday, June 18, 2010.
Funding is available to cover travel and expenses for many/most participants in this workshop.
Full details are on the workshop web site:http://fse18.cse.wustl.edu/callforpositionpapers.html.
The organizers are interested in having a broad range of thoughtful and visionary position papers. As stated in the CfP: The workshop does not seek and will not accept technical research papers rather, it seeks "creative, thoughtful and thought-provoking works that define novel and compelling perspectives, positions, problem formulations, assumptions and new approaches for our field."
"Imagining the Future of Software Engineering Research" is the theme of this one-time international working conference. Scheduled for the two days just prior to the FSE research conference, this working conference is designed to provide the international research community with a unique and valuable opportunity to envision, discuss, refine, and disseminate consequential new ideas about the future of our field. The working conference will bring together academic and industrial visionaries, researchers, and government research funding agency personnel to discuss and design the future of software engineering research.
NetSE Research Agenda
In 2008, the Computing Community Consortium (CCC) charged the Network Science and Engineering (NetSE) Council with developing a comprehensive research agenda that would support the development of a better Internet. This report summarizes the findings and recommendations of the NetSE Council.
