CCC has developed a model process for moving ideas from "gleam" to active research initiative as demonstrated in the figure:

 

Examples of each stage of this process may be found in topics given under CCC sponsorship at FCRC 2007: www.cra.org/ccc/fcrc. (Note that each of these projects was initiated before CCC came into existence and are to be seen as exemplars of visioning efforts in various stages, not as CCC activities; although CCC may very well support them or related activities in the future.)

How to Participate

CCC encourages broad participation through a proposal process; the RFP is available at www.cra.org/ccc/rfp. The CCC Council will regularly review submissions to the RFP process and work with the proposers to initiative a visioning activity, connect the proposers with ongoing related efforts, encourage the proposers to enhance/rework their concept, or inform the proposers that the proposed activity does not fit within the scope of CCC. Please note that this is a relatively informal process and you are encouraged to contact the CCC Council with any questions or concepts (rfp [at] cra.org).
