National Research Council Study of Ph.D. Programs in Computer
Science. From this study, CRA has assembled a database of CS
information, allowing users to rank 108 CS Ph.D. programs based on
any of 20 characteristics. All information on these pages was
derived from a National Research Council study entitled Research-Doctorate
Programs in the United States: Continuity and Change (study, 1993;
release 1995).
CRA Surveys:
CRA Taulbee Survey is
the principal source of information on the enrollment, production, and
employment of Ph.D.'s in CS & CE and in providing salary and
demographic data for faculty in CS & CE.

Industrial Salary Survey reports on
the issue of salaries paid to computer science researchers employed in
industrial computer science laboratories.
CRA
Departmental Profiles Survey was a survey of data on budgets, staff
support, space, faculty teaching loads, and graduate student support in
U.S. and Canadian Ph.D. granting departments of computer science and
engineering. The survey was discontinued in 2001 and questions from it
have been added to the Taulbee Survey. Results from the 2000 and 1998
Profiles Surveys are available.
