- Source data for all of the tables in the
Taulbee Survey have now been added to the report: 2005-2006 Taulbee Survey. The
Survey is the principal source of information on the enrollment,
production, and employment of Ph.D.s in computer science and computer
engineering (CS & CE) and in providing salary and demographic data
for faculty in CS & CE in North America. Statistics given include
gender and ethnicity breakdowns.

First Computing Community Consortium Council.
- Slides are available for the CCC talks held at FCRC: there
were five special talks focused on broad research visions for the field,
presented by the NSF-sponsored Computing Community
Consortium.

Creating Visions for Computing Research RFP. Under an agreement with the National Science
Foundation, CRA has established a consortium of computing experts that
will provide scientific leadership and vision on issues related to
computing research and future large-scale computing research projects.
- CRA and the National Institutes of
Health (NIH) sponsored the CRA-NIH
Computing Research Challenges in Biomedicine Workshop. The objective
of the workshop was to develop a list of focused recommendations and
action items that would guide the NIH and computing communities in
addressing current impediments to fully realizing effective
collaborations at the interface between computing and biomedical
research. The workshop report is now available: CRA-NIH
