Forsythe List

The Forsythe List is a list of Ph.D.-granting departments in disciplines related to computing in the United States and Canada.
It is named for the late Dr. George Forsythe, a professor of computer science at Stanford University and one of the founders of computer science graduate education.

  • CRA members may request an electronic copy of the mailing addresses on the list as a member benefit.
  • Organizations that are not members of CRA may purchase the electronic list for one use for $100.
  • If you would like to request a copy of the Forsythe List, please e-mail members [@] cra.org and mention what you intend to use it for.

CRA uses the Forsythe list sparingly for contacting our members about specific CRA activities we know will be of interest to them.

The list should not be used for recruiting purposes. This policy was established based upon comments the CRA Board received from the community, and we ask that you honor this policy. The Forsythe list is still available to you for announcing new programs, special appointments, and other kinds of news. If you are interested in advertising a position opening, CRA offers a jobs announcement service.

We are careful to avoid overwhelming their mailboxes. We do not advertise the activities of other groups, including CRA members or affiliates.
