Salaries of S&E Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree Recipients
Among bachelor’s and master’s graduates who received science, engineering, or health degrees between July 2000 and June 2002, the salaries of electrical/computer engineering graduates ($53,000) and chemical engineering graduates ($53,000) were the highest at the bachelor’s degree level as of October 2003, and industrial engineering ($71,000) and electrical/computer engineering graduates ($70,000) were the highest at the master’s degree level.
Among science graduates, the median annual salaries of computer and information sciences (CIS) graduates were the highest as of October 2003. CIS graduates with bachelor’s degrees earned a median annual salary of $45,000, and those with master’s degrees earned a median annual salary of $60,000. Only 8 percent of those who graduated with a bachelor’s degree in CIS were full-time students two or three years later.
