S&E Doctorate Holders Born Outside the U.S.
Computer Science relies heavily on foreign-born doctorates to fill academic positions. In 2003, among those who had received their S&E doctorates in the U.S., a greater proportion of full-time senior and junior faculty with CS doctorates were foreign born than any other S&E field: 46% of senior faculty and 53% of junior faculty.
