Week Four: 6-29 to 7-3
This week I have been reviewing my data. Monday Katie, Camille and I brainstormed for awhile. Camille and I also wrote up a page which describes all of our out files, scripts, and drivers.
We continued editing to that wiki page describing all the scripts we have done and what the yield. We also met with Sara and Lori to go over some of their hypotheses for our research.
I wrote another script to help implement one hypothesis and some of the data is very interesting!
We started decorating our DREU CREW t-shirts. They are pretty awesome! I also added a new script that will definitely help with our data-modeling. Friday we have off for the 4th!
Week Five: 7-6 to 7-10
This week has been pretty challenging and interesting. On monday I met with Lori and Sara to go over the script I have been working hard on and after I got their feedback I fixed that up.
Tuesday I met with Lori again to go over our progress report. I got a lot out of that meeting because we started talking about so many other aspects of computer science I would find interesting.
Wednesday was a busy day. I tackled a script that was pretty challenging and I got to have lunch with a good friend from home!
Thursday I finished my progress report and kept processing my data. In the afternoon we met as a group to make a plan.
Friday Lisa Marvel, who works in an army research lab, came and talked to us and then we all went out to lunch. I also implemented some extra things to my script that Lori and Sara asked for in our meeting yesterday.
Week Six: 7-13 to 7-17
This week I have been finishing up my scripts for analysis. Monday I wrote another script that built off my last few, but I think this will be one of the last I write. Its time to start analysis.
Tuesday we looked at some of the sripts written by a researcher last summer that generated test cases. We worked on these to understand them and to simplify them.
The end of the week was spent creating data-models to generate test-cases.
Week Seven: 7-20 to 7-24
This week I have been focusing on the data model. I spent Monday organizing the information I needed to create my model.
Tuesday I spent testing the logic application, and working on my data model. We also met individually with our mentors to go over our work.
After our meeting our mentors encouraged me to work on two different data models, so Wednesday was spent researching and formating for both those models.
Thursday and Friday were spent testing the logic application again, and reflecting on it. I also delveloped my models some more.
Week Eight: 7-27 to 7-31
This week is data models, data models and more data models! We have also been packing/organizing because we have to move labs. Construction makes it hard to focus.
It is weird to think that we are almost done our research, since we are moving Labs right now and then we will start work on our paper and poster!
At the end of the week we had meetings about how to create a poster and I made some more headway on my data models. We're going to the amazing maize maze as a lab for friday!
